Radstons Office Supply is an independently owned, office
products dealership located in Hercules, California.
From our new 17,000 sq. foot distribution center, we
have been providing office essentials from supplies
to furniture, printing & rubber stamps to janitorial,
computer & lunch room products to customers all
over the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We presently
employ 16 staff members and will close this fiscal year
with a volume over 4 million dollars. Each day we deploy
4 company owned trucks, driven by company-employee drivers
in order to provide next-day delivery to our customers.
Our drivers cover San Francisco, the I-80 corridor from
Hayward, Oakland, Berkeley, and up through Vallejo,
Fairfield & Benicia and then Route 4, I-580, I-680
corridor from Hercules to Pittsburg, out to Livermore
and over to San Leandro.
Radstons was founded by Mr. Cliff Radston in 1908,
as a turn-of-the-century retail stationery store located
in downtown Berkeley. In 1944, Radstons was purchased
by Merlin W. Drucquer, the grandfather of our present
owner, Diane Griffin, who succeeded her father, John
L. Drucquer as company President in 2003. Our roots
in the retail industry have defined our focus for today’s
business: We do things the way our customer wants them
to be done. This is a flexibility factor that is unique
to Radstons as far as the scope of our relationships
is concerned. It is a factor certainly not found in
the larger, big-box competitors who dominate our industry.
We are able to focus on the needs of our customers
because every step of the way from order placement to
delivery to accounting, we perform our own work, using
Radstons employees. This may not seem an important point,
but it is very common among the larger competitors to
have out-of-state call centers (out-of-country in some
cases), third party delivery drivers, account representatives
who are no longer available once your business is won
and ultimately management located in huge corporate
offices outside of California. At Radstons, requests
are handled easily and decisions come promptly-most
often from our empowered, first-line contacts. Additionally,
only with Radstons, can you have direct access to our
owner: Diane Griffin is but a telephone call away, ready
to address any concern.
Having all our assets in the Bay Area allows us to
fully focus and contribute to our local community. We
use local companies as service providers (accountants,
insurance brokers, lawyers, contractors, IT professionals,
janitors and gardeners). Our customer’s money
is re-invested in our community with these subsequent
local purchases. It is not siphoned off to out-of-state
corporate headquarters as it would be with other big-box
office products competitors.
Our foundation is based on the strong and lasting
business relationships we have formed with valued customers.
As we look to the future, we are focused on enhancing
services with core clients and also beginning long-term
relationships with other local firms.
